Kaylee's Quilt

Description

Kaylee's quilt was my second quilt project. It was completed in 2011 based on the Colorbrick Quilt-a-long.

Details

Size - Twin

Type - Machine quilted and bound with hand-embroidered details.

By this time I understood more of the language of sewing and was feeling more competent with my machine. I incorporated fabrics from my trip to Paris several years prior, along with prints purchased specifically for Kaylee's nursery.

The finished quilt was just slightly smaller than a twin:

It was around this time that I rekindled my interest in embroidery and added a few details to the quilt such as a bird on a branch:

and a double heart:

The quilt was backed in and bound in linen, which was quite a challenge to sew but gets so lovely and soft with age.
